Who We Are

Honoring Our Past. Inspiring the Future.

Nationally

The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is the nation’s largest male lineage organization, with over 37,000 members, 590+ local chapters, and societies in all 50 states, as well as international societies in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, and beyond.

Founded in 1889 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1906, SAR exists to preserve the legacy of the American Revolution and to honor the men and women who helped secure American independence.

Regionally

The Canadian Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) was officially chartered on November 21, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma. We are one of the newest chapters in the Oklahoma Society SAR, which has been active since 1905.

Our members are descendants of those who supported the cause of American independence between 1775 and 1783, whether through military service, civil leadership, or acts of patriotic support. We are committed to honoring our forefathers' legacy by promoting patriotism, serving our communities, and educating others about the principles that founded our nation.

We serve Canadian County and the surrounding region through community events, youth programs, historical preservation, color guard appearances, and civic engagement — all grounded in the SAR’s enduring mission.

Whether you're drawn to history, genealogy, public service, or honoring your heritage, we invite you to discover how you can get involved.
